Camping at Banks

Camping at Banks is a small, back to basics campsite for walkers and cyclists (no vehicles) 200m from the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail path in the village of Banks.

We have space for tents and – new for 2022! – a shepherds hut shelter. The hut sleeps up to 3 in a double and single bunk (the single has restricted head space so better for small people). There are mattresses but no bedding so you’ll need your own sleeping bag. The hut has a stove for warmth and heating water.

For both campers and those staying in the shepherds hut, we have a compost loo and two outside sinks with drinking water…and that’s it! There is no shower.

Camping – £5 per person per night

Shepherds hut – £50 per night single occupancy; £55 double; £60 triple.

To reserve the hut we’ll ask for a £20 deposit, fully refundable up to a week before your stay. You can access the hut from 4pm. Check out is 11am. Do give us a call on the day you are arriving and we can let you know if the hut is available earlier.
